Rick Warren writes "God prescribed every single detail of your body. He deliberately chose your race, the color of your skin, your hair, and every other feature. He custom-made your body just the way he wanted it...The Bible says You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something". Psalm 139:15
Who am I to argue with my Creator? Dare I tell him that he made me wrong? From this day forward I am going to embrace who I am...inside and out. And I will encourage Jeremy to pick up the camera more so that I can be captured and remembered as being part of the family!
You are who you are for a reason.
You're part of an intricate plan.
You're a precious and perfect unique design,
Called God's special woman or man.
You look like you look for a reason.
Our God made no mistake.
He knit you together within the womb,
You're JUST what he wanted to make.
The parents you had were the ones he chose,
The parents you had were the ones he chose,
And no matter how you may feel,
They were custom-designed with God's plan in mind,
And they bear the Master's seal.
No, that trauma you faced was not easy.
And God wept that it hurt you so;
But it was allowed to shape your heart
So that into his likeness you'd grow.
You are who you are for a reason,
You've been formed by the Master's rod.
You are who you are, beloved,
Because there is a God.

I hear you! I shy away from the camera and then look back later and regret that I don't have any great pictures with my husband and kids.
It is the memory and the moments that count - not whether or not I was having a good hair day.
God sees our hearts anyway and that is what truly counts.
Jeanette,
I love Rick Warren too! He speaks right to my heart and that bit you shared from him contains so much healing....it's amazing.
Something else amazing is the gift that God has given you to write and to share. I regret that I hadn't discovered that until now. Mom (Aunt Bonnie) just told me about your blog. It's beautiful! You are beautiful and I am glad that you see that now. I can completely identify with your feelings, as I have felt them many times and when I come to the realization that you came to, I am ashamed of my lack of appreciation for God's handiwork. I am so thankful He is merciful and gracious and loves and forgives me in spite of my ignorance.
Keep sharing and I'll look forward to understanding more of who you are. We truly are family....not just biologically, but spiritually : )
Bless you, Jeremy, and your three little guys!
